EU and non-EU trade in goods

EU trade in goods

In October 2021:

  • EU exports were £14.3bn:
    • up by £0.8bn (6.0%) compared with September 2021
    • up by £0.2bn (1.5%) compared with October 2020
  • EU imports were £19.7bn:
    • down by £0.9bn (4.6%) compared with September 2021
    • down by £2.8bn (12%) compared with October 2020
  • for EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £5.4bn

Non-EU trade in goods

In October 2021:

  • Non-EU exports were £19.5bn:
    • up by £4.2bn (28%) compared with September 2021
    • up by £5.3bn (37%) compared with October 2020
  • Non-EU imports were £25.9bn:
    • up by £1.1bn (4.2%) compared with September 2021
    • down by £1.1bn (4.0%) compared with October 2020
  • for non-EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £6.5bn
