Build an overseas trade data table
Create your own customised overseas trade data table. Use the filter controls to build what you need from the year 2000 onwards. Get help from our guide.
Note: Eraser icons at the top of each filter can be selected to clear them. Orange diamond symbols in the table indicate confidential data withheld by HM Revenue and Customs.
There is a known issue in the third-party software used for the interactive data reports on uktradeinfo that affects keyboard navigation users.
Once a user has entered the report to access the page content below the embedded PowerBI service they should use either the space or enter key. This will cause them to exit the report and move the focus to the remaining page content
Keyboard shortcuts for the PowerBI embedded service are available by pressing Shift + Question mark. An extended list of keyboard shortcuts are available from the Microsoft PowerBI online documentation.
The CSV file will contain the full commodity data in the table. You need to be aware of this if you are viewing higher-level aggregates in the table onscreen.
You can download up to 30,000 rows of data using the CSV button or up to 150,000 rows using the export data function. To download larger datasets, we recommend using our API service.
Bookmark this page or copy the link to a safe place so you can come back to it later. You do not need to register to save a table.

Unknown data
Some queries will return a term that is not known or collected.
Clear your filters
Click on this eraser symbol at the top of each filter to clear it and add new filters:
Confidential data symbol
See *2 in the table. Some data is withheld for confidentiality by HMRC. This is indicated by an orange diamond symbol in the table. Learn more about suppressed data.
Calculating value totals in your downloads
When calculating value totals at Harmonised System (HS) 2 level in your Comma Separated Values (CSV) download, use these commands in the 'J' column:
- ‘INCLUDE’
- ‘EXCLUDE’
All lines labelled ‘EXCLUDE’ should be removed when calculating HS2 value totals. For more information please see Help with creating custom data tables.
Port filter
In 2021, HMRC introduced a new port code: 'Dover / Eurotunnel'. This was so that traders could submit Customs Declarations before deciding on transport mode.
As a result, to calculate trade totals for Dover, select both of these ports from the filter:
- ‘Dover’
- ‘Dover/Eurotunnel’
A complete list of freight location codes are available from GOV.UK.
