Trade in goods asymmetry analysis

HMRC has today published a report on asymmetries analysis between the UK and the USA.

Trade asymmetries occur when a country's published trade statistics differ from its partners. HMRC and the Department for Business and Trade (DBT) worked with the United States Census Bureau (Census). They investigated the differences in trade statistics between the UK and the USA, focusing on trade for all chapters and trade in vehicles and cars. This study uses data obtained from the United Nations International Trade Statistics Database.
