EU and non-EU trade in goods

EU trade in goods

In February 2023:

  • EU exports were £15.5bn:
    • down by £0.2bn (1.4%) compared with January 2023
    • up by £0.4bn (2.8%) compared with February 2022
  • EU imports were £26.4bn:
    • up by £1.8bn (7.4%) compared with January 2023
    • up by £2.8bn (12%) compared with February 2022
  • for EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £10.9bn

Non-EU trade in goods

In February 2023:

  • Non-EU exports were £18.4bn:
    • up by £3.4bn (23%) compared with January 2023
    • up by £3.9bn (27%) compared with February 2022
  • Non-EU imports were £26.3bn:
    • down by £3.7bn (12%) compared with January 2023
    • down by £0.2bn (0.6%) compared with February 2022
  • for non-EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £7.9bn
