EU and non-EU trade in goods

EU trade in goods

In October 2020:

  • EU exports were £14.0bn:
    • up by £1.3bn (11%) compared with September 2020
    • down by £1.8bn (11%) compared with October 2019
  • EU imports were £22.3bn:
    • up by £0.9bn (4.2%) compared with September 2020
    • down by £3.4bn (13%) compared with October 2019
  • for EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £8.4bn

 

Non-EU trade in goods

In October 2020:

  • Non-EU exports were £14.7bn:
    • up by £1.4bn (10%) compared with September 2020
    • down by £4.0bn (22%) compared with October 2019
  • Non-EU imports were £27.2bn:
    • down by £1.2bn (4.2%) compared with September 2020
    • down by £0.5bn (1.8%) compared with October 2019
  • for non-EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £12.5bn
