Summary of trade trends
In June 2026, total goods exports were £37.2 billion:
- down by £1.8 billion or 4.7% compared with May 2026
- up by £8.5 billion or 30% compared with June 2025
In June 2026, total goods imports were £64.4 billion:
- up by £0.7 billion or 1.2% compared with May 2026
- up by £2.1 billion or 3.4% compared with June 2025
The UK was a net importer in June 2026, with imports exceeding exports by £27.2 billion. This increased the magnitude of the trade balance by £2.6 billion on May 2026.
EU and non-EU trade in goods
EU trade in goods
In June 2026, EU exports were £16.1 billion:
- down by £0.6 billion or 3.5% compared with May 2026
- up by £1.5 billion or 10% compared with June 2025
In June 2026, EU imports were £30.7 billion:
- up by £2.4 billion or 8.6% compared with May 2026
- up by £4.1 billion or 15% compared with June 2025
For EU trade, the UK was a net importer in June 2026, with imports exceeding exports by £14.6 billion.
Non-EU trade in goods
In June 2026, non-EU exports were £21.1 billion:
- down by £1.3 billion or 5.7% compared with May 2026
- up by £7.0 billion or 49% compared with June 2025
In June 2026, non-EU imports were £33.7 billion:
- down by £1.7 billion or 4.8% compared with May 2026
- down by £2.0 billion or 5.5% compared with June 2025
For non-EU trade, the UK was a net importer in June 2026, with imports exceeding exports by £12.6 billion.
