EU and non-EU trade in goods

EU trade in goods

In September 2024:

EU exports were £13.8bn:

    • down by £0.3bn (2.2%) compared with August 2024
    • down by £1.6bn (10%) compared with September 2023

EU imports were £25.3bn:

    • up by £1.3bn (5.4%) compared with August 2024
    • down by £0.2bn (0.7%) compared with September 2023

for EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £11.5bn

Non-EU trade in goods

In September 2024:

Non-EU exports were £17.8bn:

    • up by £1.3bn (7.8%) compared with August 2024
    • down by £2.1bn (11%) compared with September 2023

Non-EU imports were £25.4bn:

    • down by £1.9bn (6.8%) compared with August 2024
    • up by £2.2bn (9.6%) compared with September 2023

for non-EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £7.6bn
