EU and non-EU trade in goods

EU trade in goods

In June 2023:

  • EU exports were £15.5bn:
    • up by £0.1bn (0.8%) compared with May 2023
    • down by £1.1bn (6.9%) compared with June 2022
  • EU imports were £29.4bn:
    • up by £1.1bn (3.8%) compared with May 2023
    • up by £2.2bn (7.9%) compared with June 2022
  • for EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £13.9bn

Non-EU trade in goods

In June 2023:

    • Non-EU exports were £19.0bn:
      • down by £3.1bn (14%) compared with May 2023
      • up by £2.5bn (15%) compared with June 2022
    • Non-EU imports were £23.3bn:
      • down by £4.1bn (15%) compared with May 2023
      • down by £4.7bn (17%) compared with June 2022
    • for non-EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £4.3bn
