EU and non-EU trade in goods

EU trade in goods

In March 2021:

  • EU exports were £14.6bn:
    • up by £2.6bn (22%) compared with February 2021
    • up by £1.7bn (14%) compared with March 2020
  • EU imports were £20.2bn:
    • up by £3.9bn (24%) compared with February 2021
    • down by £0.8bn (4.0%) compared with March 2020
  • for EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £5.7bn

 

Non-EU trade in goods

In March 2021:

  • Non-EU exports were £20.4bn:
    • up by £5.4bn (36%) compared with February 2021
    • up by £4.6bn (30%) compared with March 2020
  • Non-EU imports were £21.6bn:
    • up by £3.1bn (17%) compared with February 2021
    • up by £1.2bn (6.0%) compared with March 2020
  • for non-EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £1.3bn
