EU and non-EU trade in goods

EU trade in goods

In June 2021:

  • EU exports were £15.8bn:
    • up by £1.7bn (12%) compared with May 2021
    • up by £3.8bn (32%) compared with June 2020
  • EU imports were £19.3bn:
    • up by £2.2bn (13%) compared with May 2021
    • up by £1.3bn (7.2%) compared with June 2020
  • for EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £3.5bn

Non-EU trade in goods

In June 2021:

  • Non-EU exports were £13.5bn:
    • down by £0.2bn (1.3%) compared with May 2021
    • up by £1.3bn (10%) compared with June 2020
  • Non-EU imports were £25.3bn:
    • up by £2.8bn (12%) compared with May 2021
    • up by £4.5bn (22%) compared with June 2020
  • for non-EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £11.8bn
