EU and non-EU trade in goods

EU trade in goods

In July 2021:

  • EU exports were £13.3bn:
    • down by £2.4bn (15%) compared with June 2021
    • up by £1.5bn (12%) compared with July 2020
  • EU imports were £19.1bn:
    • down by £0.2bn (1.3%) compared with June 2021
    • up by less than £0.1bn (0.2%) compared with July 2020
  • for EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £5.7bn

Non-EU trade in goods

In July 2021:

  • Non-EU exports were £13.7bn:
    • down by £0.3bn (2.1%) compared with June 2021
    • up by £0.5bn (3.7%) compared with July 2020
  • Non-EU imports were £23.2bn:
    • down by £2.2bn (8.6%) compared with June 2021
    • up by £1.3bn (5.9%) compared with July 2020
  • for non-EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £9.4bn
