EU and non-EU trade in goods

EU trade in goods

In February 2021:

  • EU exports were £11.9bn:
    • up by £4.3bn (56%) compared with January 2021.
    • down by £1.6bn (12%) compared with February 2020
  • EU imports were £16.6bn:
    • up by £1.8bn (12%) compared with January 2021
    • down by £2.9bn (15%) compared with February 2020
  • for EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £4.7bn

Non-EU trade in goods

In February 2021:

  • Non-EU exports were £14.9bn:
    • up by £1.5bn (11%) compared with January 2021
    • up by £1.0bn (6.9%) compared with February 2020
  • Non-EU imports were £18.7bn:
    • down by £1.7bn (8.5%) compared with January 2021
    • down by £0.9bn (4.6%) compared with February 2020
  • for non-EU trade, the UK was a net importer, with imports exceeding exports by £3.7bn
