The World Customs Organisation have released details on proposed changes to the 6-digit Harmonised System (HS) to be implemented in 2012.
The HS forms the basis for the EU Combined Nomenclature (CN) that describes the 8-digit Commodity Codes to be used against all goods imported into and exported from EU Countries.
The level of change to Commodity Codes in 2012 is therefore likely to be notably more significant than in 'non-HS' change years (which usually take place in 5 yearly cycles).
